Goats on the side of the road as we drove along the east side of the island… |
After checking out River Bay, Smitty took us over to check out the Animal Flower Cave. We didn’t actually go down inside the cave but we did wander above ground and took in the cliff side views. Two Words: Absolutely Breathtaking.
Can you believe that Smitty has gone spear fish diving in these waters!? Granted, he said it was probably 5 miles out into the ocean but still … that’s the ocean… I personally like to stay where my feet can touch the ground.
But anyways back to these cliffside views… Smitty had the nerve to say this view (above) wasn’t all the good… That we should check out the views on the other side. So we followed him to the other side and I have to say, Smitty was right on point with his opinions.
There nothing like walking along the edge of a cliff and feeling the seawater sprinkle you in the face… Because that’s how much force was behind the ocean as it was slamming against the cliffside… Strong enough for me to think it was drizzling before I realized “Oh, that’s the ocean flying up the walls!” I personally have a fear for heights and tried my best to stay away from the edge but what do you do when you want to take a picture with perfect backdrop? You suck it up, engage your core and brace your legs against the massive vortex of wind swirling along the cliffs and all around you. And pray you don’t get blown over the side. Somebody obviously heard my prayers because I’m alive right now to talk about it. ;) Thank you lord and buddha.
