Tis the season for summer festivals and our town brought in the beginning of summer with its very own. Last weekend, Charles, my little sister, Gigi, and I went to check out Viva! Vienna! (in Northern Virginia, not Austria) as part of our Memorial Day weekend celebrations. Our Goal: To make sure Gigi had a great time and to also make her do everything, alllll the rides and everything. Our approach to babysitting is, “wear them out before they wear you out.”And that’s just what we set out to do ;)
^^ Checking Out The Sights
^^ Couldn’t Pass Up A Photo Op w/ A Minion.
^^ The ferris wheel Gigi kept asking to get on. So we went on it & she freaked out from the heights. I thought it was hilarious..
^^ Frozen Yogurt w/ Sprinkles (of course)
^^ Cheeeeese
^^ Swing Around The Rosie
^^ Bunbait
^^ Giving A Few Pointers On How To Catch A Shark
^^ Smiles & A Scaredy Cat Face While On The Ferris Wheel
^^ View From Up Top
^^ Her fishing prize was a dolphin that she gave her sunglasses to because it was bright outside… So Sweet <3
Carnival rides, food, entertainment and games! With so much to do, we stayed out exploring Viva! Vienna! for almost 4 hours. For a festival put on by a small town, I was pleasantly surprised by how well organized and clean it all was. We had soooo much fun! Big ups to the Rotary Club of Vienna for putting on such a fun weekend event!
I guess the biggest question of the day would be “did we wear Gigi out or did she wear us out?” Welllll… When we got home after the festival, Charles immediately plopped down on the couch to take a nap while Gigi asked to go out for a walk. So she and I went for a walk to our local park, came back and then went to the grocery store to run some errands which is right around the time that she fell asleep in the car. When we got home, she headed straight to bed while I put the groceries away. Mind you, it was only 4pm… And as the only one left standing after what felt like a long day, I did what anyone else would do.. I sat down on the couch next to a snoring Charles and took a nap myself. Soooo I guess you could say it was a tie??? haha
Does your town or city host any local festivals during the summer?
