My week of little happenings in photos. :)
^^ Nothing says “welcome back to the America” like a Krispy Kreme donut. As you can see my favorite donut of theirs is the glazed with KREME filling… Ugh, is soooo goood!
^^ Charles’s Grandma Ida :) We drove down to the 757 area this past weekend to celebrate her 80th birthday. Fun fact: Ida is a seamstress and made her whole outfit that she is wearing in the photo above. Doesn’t she look great?!
[pipdig_left] [/pipdig_left] [pipdig_right][/pipdig_right]^^ Our “fits” for Grandma Ida’s b-day celebration.
^^ Flower power vibes as the trees in our area start to bud and bloom. I might be a little biased since I’m a Spring baby buuuuut, Spring really is my favorite season.
^^ Our doormat. I love coming home after work to this affirming message every day… Backstory for this mat = A few weeks ago, while showering, I had a random realization that I had never owned a doormat before and decided that this needed to change immediately. One thing about me is… Once I realize something and want to make a change, I can’t focus on anything else until I take care of it. So right after I got out of the shower, I went online and 30 minutes later found this doormat on Zazzle. The minute I saw it online, I knew it was the one. I showed it to Charles, he agreed with the sentiment and now we are OFFICIAL doormat owners lol.
I share all this to say, Zazzle is having a sitewide sale from now until Sunday which means everything is 15% off. If you’re in search for a doormat, now’s the time to get one. If you share similar values and would like your home’s entrance to reflect that, you can find our exact doormat here. It comes in 2 different sizes and standard shipping is free.

With that said, 4 words that sum up this week for me are “catch up & break down”. Whether for my 9-5 or my schoolwork, I’ve been playing catch up after being away for 2 weeks. It’s been a little exhausting to the point that I’ve been going to bed around 9-10pm (I typically go to sleep at midnight so this is early for me) because my body literally wouldn’t function past this time.
One evening, I could feel myself and my body shut down because my brain was so tired while trying to wash the dishes and had to catch myself a few times nodding off. I finally asked Charles to finish the dishes for me and then plopped into bed without washing my face and brushing my teeth lol. Then yesterday, I had the worst migraine all day and couldn’t look at the computer screen at work because it hurt my eyes and head… And then last night and this morning, I’ve been having the worst tummy ache and a case of major wet stools (possibly diarrhea? tmi?) that woke me a few times through the night.
Since we got back from our trip, I hit the ground running and haven’t given myself time to rest and I think this is my body’s way of telling me to chill the phuck out… Sooooo this weekend, since I thankfully don’t have anything planned, I’m going to do just that. Pretty much, sleep, eat, work on my thesis a little bit and go back to sleep.
How’s life been happening on your side of the online world? What were some of your favorite little happenings from this past week?
xo, Setarra
