Hope you’re not sick of all my ‘Dam blog posts because I can’t think of a better way to acknowledge St. Patrick’s Day than to celebrate with a post full of beer! Heineken beer that is… Proudly produced in Amsterdam, it only made sense for Charles and I to check out Heineken’s original brewery through their visitor tour called, “The Heineken Experience.” And boy oh boy, what a full out experience it was. I’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking from here.
Want to know our fave moments of the tour? Keep those fingers scrolling down until you get to the bottom. :)
^^ Our entry bands = Two chips for two drinks. The white chip was for a souvenir at the end of the tour.
^^ Me & My Wife, Charla (hehe)
^^ Doing my part to supply the world with Heineken..
^^ Learning how to drink beer the proper way. #foamisgood
^^ Charles answered one of the bartender’s questions correctly and was rewarded with an extra glass of beer!
^^ Turned in our chips to turn up with some pilsner!
^^ Boarding the boat for our canal cruise!
^^ Breezy like Sunday morning…
Highlights From The Tour:
1) I’ll start with the obvious… The Beer. I’m already a fan of Heineken so learning about the brewery’s history and their beer making process only made me feel more invested with their brand. On top of that, being able to actually drink 3 glasses of beer during the tour was an added boozy bonus to the already immersive experience.
2) The Commercial Room: After learning how to properly drink beer in the tap room, we entered a room full of screens that played non-stop loops of Heineken commercials. Charles and I sat in the room watching the commercials run for almost 10 minutes. Heineken’s brand is mature, hip and sexy (at least to me) and I think their commercials are super entertaining and display their brand’s style spot on.
3) Speaking of sexy… Another random highlight I feel I must share with you is that all the Heineken employees are hot. And I’m dead serious when I say all. From the tour guides to the bartenders, everyone was young, fit and gorgeous. Serious eye candy, I tell ya. On top the visual aesthetic, everyone also had accents so there was alot of ear candy going on as well. I can only imagine what the hiring process is like to work at Heineken… #cattlecall ;)
4) For the price of 18 euro, Charles and I felt like we got so much bang out of our buck with The Heineken Experience tour. If anything, it’s a steal because not only do you get 1 tasting and 2 full pours of beer but you also get to take home 2 souvenir glasses and experience a canal tour (the average price of canal boat tour is about 13-14 euro)! The crazy thing is that we almost went on a canal boat cruise that morning before walking over to The Heineken Experience around noon… Phew! I’m so glad we decided to sleep in instead haha.
And that’s that! I wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day! May your day be a Bacchus one! And remember, drink responsibly. Don’t drink and drive pretty please.
