A quick real-time post as Charles and I enjoy an unexpected day off from work and our first snow of Spring. Sharing few photos from my little adventure out in the elements exploring around our local park because fresh snow is my favorite.

So many kids were out playing in the snow. People were walking their dogs. Robins were flittering about.
Meanwhile, I was the loner who kept walking up and down along the creek trying to figure out if I could make it down to the water without getting myself too wet. I saw the self-portrait shot in my head and was determined to capture it.
After a bit of slipping, sliding and splashing as a few of the kids watched my shenanigans, your girl made it down in one piece and got the shot. Success!
(shoutout to my tripod. you da best.)
And, of course, because I’m such a great influence… Once the three kids saw me taking photos in the creek, they followed in my literal footsteps and started playing in the creek too.
As I was leaving, I said, “Make sure to stay in the shallow parts.” They all looked at each other, started laughing and one boy replied “You sound like my mom.” O_O
That was my cue to exit stage left before they tried to roast me some more for my “maternal” concern haha.
Just goes to show there really is adventure waiting in your backyard.
Hope your Spring is off to a great (and hopefully much warmer) start!
