If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I hopped on a plane to Columbia, South Carolina yesterday. I’m hanging with my girl, Anna, for the weekend to pre-celebrate my bday which takes place on Monday. This is my first time ever traveling to South Carolina and Anna’s got a full itinerary planned for our 4 days together – I’m excited!
After picking me up from the airport yesterday morning, Anna asked one of my favorite questions, “What do you want to eat?”
My answer, “Well I didn’t eat breakfast and it’s nearly lunchtime… Know any good places to grab a burger?”
Her eyes lit up, she said “I know the perfect spot” and whipped her car through the city to our ultimate destination – Pawley’s Front Porch in the 5 Pointz area of Columbia.
Car parked, we were seated in the actual front porch area of Pawley’s a couple minutes later and handed a menu. After a quick browse, we decided to drink local and order the locally brewed River Rat Broad River Bed and Hazelnut Brown beers.
^^ Cheers!
As for our food… We narrowed it down to two burger options and then did “eeny meeny miney moe” to decide which burger we would get.
The winner?
^^ The Wadmalaw Burger – a burger topped with Chipotle BBQ sauce, fried pickle chips, applewood smoked bacon and cheddar cheese.
ANNNND a side of the sweet potato fries that were seasoned with cinnamon sugar!!! Insert a heart eyed emoji here.
The combination of the savory burger with the sweet fries was banging. We ended up splitting the burger between us because it was so big but I could’ve easily eaten the whole burger and fries by myself haha.
Also, if you’re wondering how I have time to work on a “real time” blog post while on vacation…
Anna and I just did this workout in her living room to burn off our burger guilt and she literally fell asleep on the floor afterwards haha! Sooo, while she’s napping (she’s big on naps), I’m working on a few posts because as you all know, the blog work never ends which is totally cool since I enjoy creating content. This post that you’re reading was technically written yesterday. :)
