This was the view from our garage deck this past Monday evening. It had been a rainy, gloomy day alllll day. But around 6 pm the rain stopped and the clouds parted to let the sun have the last word. The progression of photos is a bit backwards as the sky actually started off a fiery red and then mellowed out into coral hues as the last of the light faded away…
It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with the sky. I think what feeds this obsession is the fact that I’ve lived without a T.V. for almost 3 years. Without a television to distract me, I’ve become especially attuned to light and the sun and how it changes every hour… Probably because deep down I believe I’m a human plant and that my happiness is determined by the sun’s rays…
Every evening, Charles and I eat dinner and talk. And drink. And talk some more. And then what typically happens is that I’ll look out the window, see the sky changing and the rest is history. But I’ll have you know that Charles was pretty much against coming up to roof deck with me this time to watch the sunset (because it was chilly – boo hoo) … Until I bribed him by saying, “Let’s dump our beer in some cups and bring it up with us.” Yeaaap.. If you want your significant other to help you out with photos for the blog … Bribe them with beer. Works every single time …
